Unconventional Tips to Lose Weight

...that you’ve probably never heard of before!
A lot of people want to lose weight, but I bet you’re tired of hearing the same old tips. Here are some unconventional ones that worked for me:
1. Play Rock Band drums.
Seriously, not only is this a lot of fun, it hones your concentration skills and works your arms out like crazy, too. I found this out recently when I went playing with my friends – the focus needed for the game doesn’t let you notice how tired you are until you finish, when you’re all sweaty and panting (especially after a particularly hard song).
2. Eat string cheese.
I’m surprised this tip doesn’t get as much credit as it should. String cheese is so effective in curbing hunger (at least for me). I think some people are aware of this, too – I’ve seen people in school munching on string cheese in corridors between classes, when there’s no time to eat. An alternative is a whole egg – this makes me full during my hunger pangs.
3. Take omega 3 fish oil.
I’ve just recently bought my first bottle of fish oil supplement, so I don’t know if this works for sure. But look around the internet for accounts of weight loss success due to fish oil, you’d be convinced. Studies have shown that fish oil helps blood circulation, which in turn helps increase your fat-burning ability.
4. Look in a mirror, put on your headphones, and dance in your underwear!
For this to work, you need to put on sexy, rhythmic tunes. Pretend you’re a hot singer/dancer busting your groove on a music video. Not only does this help you workout, it also helps you pinpoint exactly what you want to change in your body and notice the results of your past weight loss efforts.
5. Do a cardio activity for 20 minutes straight.
Though this is the most uninteresting tip out of the five, it really does the trick. The key is discipline – no pain, no gain. It’s when you’re the most tired that the body burns the most fat. Work at this consistently, make a promise with yourself to do it every day, or three times a week, and it will pay off. If you find it hard, make a playlist of 5-6 of your favorite dance songs, then tell yourself that you’re going to run or dance to those songs without rest.
Losing weight is hard, but making your workout fun makes exercise seem less like a tedious chore, and more like playing. You’ll get your ideal body before you know it.
